Andreas Neemann wrote his first ZF text in 2001 about 6HP transmissions. Since then, the automotive writer has filled many publications for internal and external readers, showcasing his passion for the Group's more complex subjects.
Can you truly say, hand on heart, that you enjoy getting from A to B? The mobility of today can really strain the nerves and is a major cause of stress – whether you are stuck in a traffic jam in your own car, trying to deal with delays or cancelations at the railway station, or realizing just how much the lack of transportation links in rural areas can complicate life. Another factor is the continually deteriorating quality of the air we breathe, particularly in cities. Yet the ability to be mobile is a basic human requirement. Mobility options therefore need to fit the concept of individual lifestyles.

Over the coming months, ZF will be addressing this highly topical issue through its #MobilityLifeBalance initiative. The themed campaign will show how a loss of balance is increasingly being felt between the mobility options available and our aspirations in life. People want constantly available, affordable, clean, and safe mobility – but the reality looks a little different: traffic jams, emissions, and a lack of mobility services.

Traffic jams are an everyday sight in many cities.

Mobility that fits our lifestyle

Through its Next-Generation Mobility corporate strategy, ZF is constantly striving to make mobility accessible and affordable for everyone – easily available, even safer, and more comfortable, while also ensuring it is more efficient and sustainable than it is today. This is the stance the Group hopes to address with its #MobilityLifeBalance initiative. The focus is placed firmly on the benefits available to every mobile individual and their needs.
It is also clear that ZF offers a wide range of solutions to help establish a better balance between mobility and life in the future. These solutions include more widespread electromobility, autonomous driving, and greater security coupled with improved driving comfort. ZF is committed to these strategic areas in its quest to establish next-generation mobility. The Group will also be using the #MobilityLifeBalance slogan for its appearance at the International Motor Show (IAA) 2019.
The themed campaign can be found online, too: the www.mobilitylifebalance.com website addresses the problems and possible solutions, and also provides a wealth of information together with examples in which any of us might find ourselves.
In many large cities, smog has become a daily companion for their residents.
